Jackie Palank and Borja Martinez-Avial of Washington, D.C., were married Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls.

Parents of the bride are Larry and Alice Palank of Menomonee Falls. The groom's parents are Jose and Christina Martinez-Avial of Madrid, Spain.

The Rev. Donald Hying officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony, which was followed by a reception at Coast Restaurant in Milwaukee.

Nicole Palank of Menomonee Falls, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

Alvaro Martinez-Avial of Madrid, brother of the groom, was best man.

The bride earned her journalism degree from Marquette University. She is a senior reporter at Dow Jones.

The groom holds a business degree and works at the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.

The couple planned a two-week honeymoon to the Canary Islands.
